Attractions
Oeschinen Lake
For many, this is the most beautiful of the alpine lakes. The lake lies in a nature reserve amidst the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch region which is listed as UNESCO World Heritage site. A panorama gondola takes you to the lake in approx. 10 minutes.
Blausee
In the midst of paradise lies a small blue lake. The Blausee: The nature resort in imposing natural beauty. Excellent restaurant, one of a kind bio alpine trout hatchery, romantic trails, mystical lake scenes at night and wonderful children’s playground.
Gastern Valley (Gasterntal)
Enjoy hiking through the picturesque Gastern Valley on carefully maintained hiking trails and discover the many treasures of this UNESCO World heritage site. Take your time to enjoy the impressive scenery along the river Kander to Kanderfirn.
Sunnbüel – Gemmipass
The finding of coins from the Roman Empire proves that the Gemmipass, the unique connection Bern-Wallis, has been used for hundreds of years. In summer, this region welcomes you to walk or to spend some time at the mountain lakes Daubensee and Lämmernsee (fishing). You can also venture to walk on the nearby glaciers.
Via ferrata Kandersteg-Allmenalp
Climb one of the most beautiful and spectacular via ferratas of Switzerland. You can rent the via ferrata equipment in the sport shops of Kandersteg or directly at the valley station of the Allmenalpbahn.
Swiss Alpine Club huts
Kandersteg is an ideal starting point for your hike to one of eight Swiss Alpine Club huts nearby. For instance, enjoy the spectacular view of lake Thun seen from the Blüemlisalp Hut on 2'840 metres above sea level.

Enjoy a refreshing moment amidst a unique alpine scenery: the cosy little Allmen Inn welcomes guests during the alp season and can serve as a good point of departure for your hike or for game watching.

Use our bus service to travel from Kandersteg Station to the picturesque Gastern Valley (Gasterntal). Take your time to explore the impressive scenery along the river Kander to Kanderfirn on carefully maintained hiking trails.

Nordic Arena Kandersteg
The ski jumps of the National Nordic Ski Center are located at the entrance of the mountain village of Kandersteg and are surrounded by the breath-taking mountains of the Bernese Alps. Visit the Swisscom Nordic Arena for Mountain Tubing, a guided tour or as a visitor of trainings.
